Washington Island is Wisconsin's largest island
Washington Island is 36 square miles. If you don't have a boat or personal aircraft you will need to take the car ferry from Gills Rock. The car ferry leaves from Northport dock and takes you on a 7 mile journey across Lake Michigan.

If you want to visit Rock Island State Park, you need to come through Washington Island first.
