Baileys Harbor The oldest community in Door County
Baileys harbor is the oldest community in Door County. It was named after Captain Bailey. He was a captain of a small fleet of ships. In 1848 he took shelter from a severe storm on Lake Michigan in a harbor which is now named after him.

Baileys Harbor is one of the most popular villages on the Peninsula. Of particular interest to both tourists and locals, is the 4th of July events that take place each year.

In addition to that, there are numerous natural beauties in and nearby the Down town area of Baileys Harbor. Since it ison the East side of the Peninsula you have the luxury of being able to watch the sunrise over the lake.
