The Door County outdoors.

The sun breaks through the wooded canopy.Take advantage of the natural elements that make Door County a great place.

Take a walk or ride a bike on any of the numerous trails that lace the county.

In the winter many of these same trails double as cross country ski routes and or snowmobiling trails.

If you forget your bike or skis don't worry, there are many places that you can rent or buy these supplies

POTAWATOMI STATE PARK

A trail entrance in Pot Park. This picture was taken at the base of the Potawatomi Observation tower.

There are numerous wide paths like this where you can go hiking or Biking and enjoy the scenery.

This particular picture was taken on a hazy morning about ten minutes before it rained all. Even then its still great to get a glimpse of wild turkeys or other wildlife.

PENINSULA STATE PARK

Sun peeking through the trees in Peninsula State Park.

There are so many awesome places to explore in Peninsula State Park that I had to put in this glimpse of a standard moment so as not to ruin the surprises!

PORTAGE PARK

Entrance to Portage Park

This is what you will see as you come up on the entrance to Portage Park. This picture was taken on County TT after the Coast Guard Station (located on the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal-there is a lighthouse there also). Portage park has trails and not to many visitors! Enjoy this park on Lake Michigan.

WHITEFISH DUNES STATE PARK

Large Buck running awayThis picture was taken an instant after this buck jumped out of some bushes and ran across the path. There was only enough time to raise and snap. Then he disappeared over the top of the dune.

Even on the wide trails-that are all over the park- it is not uncommon to see wildlife.

(I suppose that it looks sort of like a rabbit by a small bush, but, it really was an 8 pointer)

Deer Running in a field on the way to Cave Point.
A few Deer run in the morning. This was taken on Cty WD on the way to Cave Point and the Whitefish Dunes.

Be vigilant, the deer aren't always just jumping fences, they frequently jump in front of cars too.

CAVE POINT PARK

Cave Point sunrise.

Gorgeous and the norm. If you can get up early enough, Cave Point puts on displays like this very frequently.

Once the sun is up, The trails and cliffs overlooking Lake Michigan offer a perfect place to have a picnic and stroll.
